This is a fine reproduction of a magnificent hand-colored lithograph of General Ulysses S. Grant, an excellent masterpiece created by Currier & Ives, which has been printed on Fine Art Paper.
About the Artist. Currier and Ives was a successful American printmaking firm headed by Nathaniel Currier (1813–1888) and James Merritt Ives (1824–1895). Based in New York City from 1834-1907, the prolific firm produced prints from paintings by fine artists as black and white lithographs that were hand colored. Lithographic prints could be reproduced quickly and purchased inexpensively, and the firm called itself "the Grand Central Depot for Cheap and Popular Prints" and advertised its lithographs as "colored engravings for the people."
ABOUT OUR PRINTS. Our enhanced matte art paper provides an optimum image platform and its color gamut yields remarkable color reproduction. This heavyweight art paper delivers true feel of the image and with its bright white base accentuates highlights and shadow detail.
All our prints are suitable for framing and we have removed most of the imperfections to give you a magnificent clean copy. The watermark, if any, does not appear in your fine art print!
We don't sell paper posters. A mass produced poster is not printed to last very long. By the contrary our reproductions will last for years to come. Our Fine Art giclée prints are individually created of exceptional quality. They will make a nice addition to any collection, decoration at home or office, or a great gift!
