Description of the Map.
This cadastral (also spelled cadaster) map of St. Croix was prepared under the guidance of Adam Gotlob Moltke (1710–1792), a German-born Danish politician. This one of a kind map was annotated in pen, in the year 1766, to show the names of the land owners on the respective sugar estates / plantations and animal mills and wind mills / windmills. It also has inset views of the city plans of Frederiksted and Christiansted / Bassin. It is a must for any Crucian / Cruzan, genealogist, historian, or St. Croix lover! A Saint Croix map of incredible beauty!
